FAQs

NEED SOME HELP?

Legal lingo can be a bit of a head-scratcher! Don’t worry, demystifying complex legal matters is our specialty – providing clear and practical guidance to businesses and individuals alike.

What can I expect from my Solicitor?

From the outset of your matter you can expect your solicitor to be up front with regards to costs, timescales and next steps.

Before acting, you can expect to receive a letter of engagement setting this out in writing.

You can expect your solicitor and their team to be your main point of contact from start to finish so you feel comfortable you are in safe hands.

Is it better to have a Solicitor as an executor of a Will?

In some cases it may be sensible to have a solicitor act as the executor, or co-executor of your Will. This will take away the stress and burden of dealing with your estate from a loved one.

If you have a particularly complex or taxable estate, it also means that we can ensure that all issues are correctly dealt with, adhering to all deadlines and ensuring all tax exemptions are fully and correctly utilised.

Whilst there is a cost to a professional executor, it may give you peace of mind and security that things will be tied up correctly after your death.

How do I choose the right Solicitor?

You might find it difficult to choose a solicitor that is right for you. However, you may find it useful to look at our team page to find a dedicated individual to help you with your matter. This section will also inform you about any additional qualifications and certificates the individual holds which might be relevant to your matter.

How much do your services cost?

We offer free initial consultations in most areas so we can discuss your requirements and circumstances.

In most cases, this is a face-to-face meeting in our offices, but we can facilitate telephone or online meetings if preferred.

After this initial consultation, if we are able to help you, we would send out a quote or funding arrangement for the work to be carried out, along with a letter of engagement.
