We regularly like to highlight one of our fantastic Team. This month it’s Gabriella Jobling, a trainee solicitor currently working in commercial and employment law.
1) How did you first learn about Avery Walters?
I learned about Avery Walters during my first summer at university where a job was advertised to cover reception. From there I returned each summer helping with archiving files, where I created a database for the company, which is still used today. Within that time, I carried out other tasks such as typing letters and sitting in on client meetings. During my university course I was able to take a year out in industry and was offered the opportunity to work in the commercial property department for six months.

2) What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
Meeting the clients and getting to know more about them, creating that rapport with them is something I enjoy, and I think is sometimes taken for granted. Working with Andrew, the Managing Director, and seeing how he likes to get to know his clients and their backgrounds helps you to create those relationships that leads to them returning to you for other work in the future.

3) Who inspires you?
My grandad, someone who came to this country with very little money and not knowing the language and has built a family business from the ground up. His work mentality and his love for family is something that inspires me every day, and I will continue to do my best to make him proud.

4) What accomplishment makes you proudest?
Currently it would be going to university getting two degrees, a post graduate degree and a masters, and to say that I have followed my dream and plan to become a lawyer ever since I was child no matter how many setbacks I had.

5) What does true leadership mean to you?
Being someone who you can look up to, that strives to be the best but can also work as a team player, and not only has the best interests at heart for themselves but everyone else around them too.

6) What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with Avery Walters?
To pass my exams and become a fully qualified solicitor and work in the Employment department. Following that to become the head of the Employment department in 5-6 years. I would also like to make the Employment department well known within the local community and further so that people come to us as they know we can provide them with the best service.

7) If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
The Kray twins and Kris Jenner.

8) What advice would you give to recent new hires?
To always ask for help as everyone here would be willing to drop anything to help you, and that even though we are small in size this firm really looks after its employees and wants you to grow within the business. An unusual part of this firm is that you have direct contact with the Directors and that they care about your opinion and if you have ideas for the business always speak up and they do listen and implement those ideas if they can.

Thank you Gabriella and the best of luck with all your plans.
